Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Centrepiece, a product of ectype, collects, uses and protects personal information. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). We've tried to write this in plain English rather than legalese — if anything is unclear, email us.
What we collect
When you create a Centrepiece account, we collect your email address and any details you add about your wedding (date, venue, budget, runsheet, seating plan and so on).
When you build a guest list, you (the couple) enter your guests' names, dietary requirements and any notes you add. When a guest RSVPs, we collect their RSVP response and any optional message or song request they choose to leave. We don't require guests to create an account or give us anything beyond what's needed to respond to your invitation.
Why we collect it
We use this information to run the service you've signed up for: hosting your wedding planning tools, collecting and organising RSVPs on your behalf, and letting your guests look up their table or reply to your invitation. We don't use guest data for any other purpose.
Who can see it
Guest details — names, dietary requirements, RSVP responses, messages — are only ever visible to the couple who invited them (and anyone they've given their Centrepiece login to). Guests can't see other guests' details, and we don't make any of it public.
What we don't do
We don't sell your data or your guests' data, and we don't share it with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. Full stop.
Service providers we use
- Supabase — our database and authentication provider, where your account and event data is stored.
- Stripe — handles payments for the Centrepiece Pass subscription. Your card details go straight to Stripe and never touch our servers.
- Resend — sends transactional emails, like RSVP confirmations and account emails.
- Cloudflare — hosts the site and serves it through their CDN.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics — privacy-friendly analytics with no cross-site tracking cookies, used only to understand overall site traffic.
Each of these providers only processes the data needed to do their specific job for us.
Where your data lives
Your data is hosted with the service providers listed above. We don't maintain a separate copy anywhere else.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account at any time from Account settings — this permanently deletes your event and all associated guest data. If you'd rather we do it for you, or you have any trouble, email us and we'll take care of it.
